Galen Rupp Wins Prague International Marathon in 2:06:07Published by
Rupp Rebounds From Boston, Wins Prague Marathon By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Galen Rupp has only been racing marathons for less than two and half years, but he ran the fastest one of his life Sunday in the Czech Republic. Less than a month since dropping out of the Boston Marathon with asthma and hypothermia symptoms at mile 19, Rupp quickly recovered and found a race where he could demonstrate his fitness. Rupp ran 2 hours, 6 minutes, 7 seconds and won the Volkswagen Prague Marathon -- taking more than three minutes off his previous best time from last fall's win in Chicago. Rupp, who turns 32 on Tuesday (May 8), is the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist in the marathon. Bornes Jepkurui Kitur of Kenya won the women's race in 2:24.19.
